By default, graphical controls are created as permanent controls. By setting this variable to "1" (true, on, yes), you cause controls to be created temporary by default. This is useful when you are converting older programs that assume that a screen update overwrites any existing screen data. You can make individual controls permanent or temporary explicitly by using the PERMANENT and TEMPORARY styles.
