Setting this variable to "1" (on, true, yes) causes ACUCOBOL-GT to treat all indexed files as if they had the WITH COMPRESSION phrase specified for them. This affects the status of newly created files only. When the variable is set to the default value of "0" (off, false, no), only those files with the COMPRESSION phrase specified are compressed. You can specify the amount of compression with COMPRESS_FACTOR.
