The SouthWare printer device will now display the following printer defaults:

Orientation

# Copies

Duplex

Tray

SouthWare will now store an override for the following printer defaults on the printer device record:

Orientation

# Copies

To store this information as a printer override you need to set up a device that is A for automatic.  To do that go to XX0508 Device ID maintenance and set field "7. Windows Printer?" to A for Automatic:

Once you choose the printer from the Windows Print Dialog box a new box will appear to show you the default settings for that printer and give you the option to set up an override for the Orientation and the # Copies:

For example, if you have a printer on Windows that is set to 1 copy and portrait and you have some reports you want set to landscape and 2 copies, you can set up two device ID's in XX0508 and assign them to 2 printers in XX050501.  One device in XX0508 will have an override of Landscape for Orientation and 2 copies:

Then when the user needs to print landscape and 2 copies they just need to choose that printer from the drop down and it will automatically print 2 copies and print landscape.

NOTE:  This information is now stored for that device ID.  So if a user goes outside of SouthWare and goes to their windows printer and changes something about those printer settings, that is not going to be retained in SouthWare. The user must go to XX0508 and go to field 7 to have SouthWare retain the new default settings for the printer.

If the duplex or tray selection needs to be set then create a windows printer outside of SouthWare with the specific tray or duplex chosen and then set up a device ID in XX0508 with that printer automatically chosen and when SouthWare prints to that printer the tray and duplex will be used from the windows printer settings.
